A Funeral for Mr. Jasper Roberson, Jr., age 86 of Ashland, will be held Thursday, July 15, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. Jason Watkins and Rev. David Holcombe officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.
Mr. Roberson was born in Clay County and was a lifelong resident. He was a farmer, raising crops, cattle, and poultry and loved providing for his family.
He is survived by his daughter, Wanda Leyva(Jesus) of Jacksonville, FL; sons, Jasper Donald Roberson(Wanda), Wade Roberson(Terri), and Timothy Clyde Roberson(Pam) all of Ashland; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; sister, Velma Nappier; many extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jasper Slaughter Roberson and Dillie Gay East Roberson; wife, Ruby Clyde Roberson and sister, Thelma Davis.
Grandsons will be active pallbearers and Hospice of Clay County will be honorary pallbearers.
Visitation is Wednesday from 5:30-8:00 at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville.
