Jasper Man Dies After Being Struck By Vehicle Near Jasper

JASPER-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a single-vehicle accident involving a pedestrian has taken the life of a Jasper man:

“A single-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian that occurred at approximately 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, has claimed the life of a Jasper man.

The pedestrian, Jason A. McCurry, 37, who was in the roadway at the time of the crash, was fatally injured when he was struck by the 2017 Toyota Corolla driven by Shelby M. Amerson, 28, of Jasper. McCurry was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash occurred on Alabama 69 near the 214 mile marker, approximately six miles north of Jasper, in Walker County.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
