Jasper Man Dies After Being Struck By Vehicle In Walker County

WALKER COUNTY-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a single-vehicle accident involving a pedestrian, who was fatality injured, near Nauvoo:

 “A single-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian that occurred at approximately 4:55 a.m. Thursday, May 2, has claimed the life of a Jasper man.

The pedestrian, Marcus C. Boteler, 27, who was in the roadway, was critically injured when he was struck by the 2007 Ford F-150 driven by Philip L. Downs, 57, of Warrior. Boteler was airlifted to UAB Hospital in Birmingham, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

 The crash occurred approximately four miles east of Jasper. 

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
