Mr. Jason Keith Cox, age 41, passed away suddenly on Friday, June 10, 2016.

Jason graduated from Sheffield High School. He was a world traveler and an avid Auburn University football fan. He was a musician and singer in the band, “Steep Winding Road.” Many of the songs he composed reflected his faith in God. He owned and operated a landscaping business.

A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at 2 p.m. EDT at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley. His family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1 p.m. EDT until the service hour.

He is survived by his father, Keith (Sheila) Cox; fiancée, Elizabeth Harris and her parents, Thomas Harris Jr. and Grace Harris; brothers, Kevin (Ashley) Cox and Allen Cox; stepbrother, Casey Pope; stepsister, Blair (Shawn) Cunningham; grandmother, Hazel Cox; nieces, Emma and Ava Cox; and his four legged friends, Sammy, Sage, and Salley.

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Derese Cox, and grandparents, Robert and Jeanette Owens and William F. Cox.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made in his honor to the American Heart Association.
