Jarvitus Edwards, 59, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2026. He was born on July 30, 1966, in Tupelo, Mississippi, to the late Earline Jones Edwards.

Jarvitus was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a passion for cooking and was known for preparing meals that brought family and friends together. He loved music, enjoyed socializing, and never met a stranger. Spending time with those he loved meant the world to him, and his friendly personality will be remembered by all who knew him.

He attended Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church in Tupelo, Mississippi, where he worshiped and remained connected to his faith.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, August 8, 2026, in the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo with Pastor Carl Jones officiating. Visitation will be at 4PM-6PM on Friday, August 7, 2026 and 10 AM-service time Saturday all at the funeral home. Burial will be at Porter’s Memorial Park in Tupelo. Holland Funeral Directors are honored to be serving the friends and family. If you are unable to attend the service, it will be livestreamed at hollandfuneraldirectors.com/livestream.

Jarvitus leaves to cherish his memory, his loving sisters, Merlene McAllister, Armentra Jones Jackson, and Rose Edwards Shorter; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many dear friends whose lives were enriched by his kindness and companionship.

In addition to his mother, Earline Jones Edwards, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Leroy Conaway, Joe Jones, and James Lee Edwards; and his sister, Gayle Jones.
