Janis Murphree, 73 of Blountsville passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at her residence. She was born June 17, 1951, in Marshall County, the daughter of Monroe Martin and Willie Ruth Baker Martin. She worked at the Lee Plant until retirement and was married to Boyd Murphree, who passed away February 20, 2016.
She is survived by her children: Kellie Blakely, Mark Brown (Kayla), Scott Murphree (Dana), Angie Ball (Danny), Jeff Murphree (Sharon), Brian Murphree and Tanya Murphree; sisters: Sally Bryson (Allen), Cathy Gilley and Sherry Gail Gilley; brother: Michael Martin (Cynthia); host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service was 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 25, 2025, at Gober Funeral Chapel with Brother Jerry Hackney officiating. The burial was in Roswell Creek Cemetery, Gober Funeral Chapel directing. Visitation was 12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Gober Funeral Chapel.
Pallbearers: Trace Brown, Tristin Brown, Taten Brown, Mark Brown, Scott Murphree and Logan Jones. Honorary Pallbearer: Bryar Murphree.
