Ms. Janie Johnson Hartbarger Mrs. Janie Johnson Hartbarger, born on April 6, 1950, passed away on February 3, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. A gentle soul with a passion for painting, Janie found solace and joy in the strokes of her brush as she created beautiful works of art. She was a devoted fan of Alabama Football, cheering on her team with unwavering loyalty. Every Sunday, the sweet melodies of gospel music filled her home, bringing her comfort and peace. Janie cherished the weekends as a time to gather with her beloved family, creating precious memories that will be treasured forever. Janie is survived by her son, Jasper (Jenny Tucker) Hartbarger, who she loved dearly. She was a proud grandmother to Justin Butler, Britney Parker, and Jordan Vega. Janie was preceded in death by her parents, Jasper and Pauline Johnson, and is also preceded in death by her brothers, J. M. Johnson and Van Ray Johnson. In the hearts of those who knew her, Janie leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and creativity that will be remembered and cherished for generations to come. May she rest in eternal peace.
Visitation Thursday, February 5, 2026, 11am-1pm, Funeral Service 1pm at Rehobeth Missionary Baptist Church. Burial to follow in Rehobeth Cemetery.
