Janice Templeton Gay, 77, of Birmingham, passed away Sept. 22, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jackson Curtis Templeton and Elsie Orr Templeton. Janice is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Gay Dickson (David); granddaughter, Erin Elizabeth Dickson; sister, Ada Alvis of Arlington, Texas and brother, Jack Charles Templeton of Hartselle. She also leaves behind many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A native of Hartselle, Janice settled in Birmingham in the early 1960’s and studied nursing. She achieved her goal of earning a PhD in Nursing and taught at UAB for many years. Janice loved to travel, spend time with family and watch Alabama football.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
