Janice R. Ferguson  Hastings Janice R. Ferguson Hastings, age 78 of Winchester, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Hillsboro on July 10, 1941 to the late Hollis and Edna (Hunt) Ferguson. Her family owned and operated Ferguson and Hastings Cee Bee Store in Decherd from 1963 until 1981. Janice was retired from the Franklin County Board of Education and had worked for over twenty-six years at Decherd School as a teacher assistant and school secretary. She was a lifetime member of Decherd First United Methodist Church. Janice enjoyed traveling, collecting special treasures, and cooking for her family, but most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports. She was preceded in death by her brother, Raymond Ferguson. Janice is survived by her loving husband of fifty-nine years, Gene Hastings of Winchester; children, Sheila (Roy) Weddington of Winchester, Vickie (Ron) Corley of Winchester, and Tim (Jessica) Hastings of Manchester; grandchildren, Ashley (Adam) Nelson, Chris (Alisha) Stines, Heather (Kyle) Trussell, Nick (Autumn ) Corley, Mason Hastings, Bella Hastings, and Brooklyn Hastings; and great-grandchildren, Victoria Nelson, Harrison Nelson, Sadie Stines, Sawyer Stines, and River Corley. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, July 12, 2020 in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Rev. David Rash and Rev. Ross Peterson officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens with Roy Weddington, Ron Corley, Chris Stines, Kyle Trussell, Adam Nelson, and Nick Corley serving as pallbearers.
