Janice Marie Mardis, age 74, of Albertville, Alabama, passed away on September 2, 2025, at Marshall Medical Center North. She was born on March 11, 1951, in Tennessee to the late F.G. and Buena Russell.
Janice was a longtime member of High Point Baptist Church, where her faith and friendships were a source of strength and joy throughout her life. She enjoyed cross stitching and was a proud member of the Marshall County Homemakers Club, where she shared her talents and built lasting friendships.
She is survived by her son, Jonathan Keith Mardis (Eddie); sisters, Margaret Jones (Jimmy) and Kathy Butler (Ronnie); and her nieces and nephews, Paul Jones (Kelly), Sheila Jones, Justin Butler (Mina), Kristy Baldwin (Rodger), Sharon Rutherford, and Angie Northcutt; along with a host of great-nieces and great-nephews who will cherish her memory. In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Mardis; brother, Franklin Russell (Mamie); and sister, Joyce Esgar.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Marshall Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday from 9:30–10:30 a.m. at Adams Brown Service Funeral Home.
