Janice Dianne Kimbrell Janice Dianne Kimbrell, 71, of Jasper, Alabama, passed away peacefully at her home on May 8, 2026.

Born on November 17, 1954, Janice was known for her beautiful smile, sweet spirit, and the genuine kindness she showed to everyone around her. To know her was truly to love her. She had a gentle heart with just enough of a feisty streak to keep life interesting and those who loved her laughing.

Janice loved the beach, buying thoughtful gifts, and never missed an opportunity to send a card for a special occasion. She loved for everything to coordinate perfectly, something her family lovingly referred to as “matchy-matchy.” More than anything, she found joy in making others feel remembered, celebrated, and loved.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Brandon Reid; her parents, Clayton and Sally Kimbrell; and her grandparents, Samuel and Grace Kimbrell and Phillip and Fannie Hembree.

She is survived by her daughter, Christie Mosley (Deon); grandchildren, Canon Harris, Marly Harris, and Carter Reid; sisters, Patricia Wood (Barry) and Dana Shipman (Tommy); nephews, Thomas Wood and Destry Shipman; nieces, Carla Adur (Ashwin) and Devin Shipman; great-nephew, Avan Adur; along with a host of cousins and dear friends who loved her greatly.

Janice also leaves behind her beloved cat, Sissy, who remained faithfully by her side.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Southeast Hospice for their excellent care, especially her aide, Megan, and nurse, Rhonda, for the compassion and kindness shown during such a difficult time.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 23, 2026, with Collins-Burke Funeral Home directing. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. with funeral services following at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Walker Memory Gardens.

Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing her gentle soul is finally at peace.

“Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” – Matthew 11:28
