Janice Bills Liggett, age 87, passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at Life Care of Columbia.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 1, 2024, at 11:00am at Morton Cemetery in Berlin with Mark Jett officiating. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on February 3, 1937, in Lewisburg, Tennessee, Janice was the daughter of the late Clifford Bills and Virginia Eatherly Bills. She was a devoted member of the Church of Christ and held her family close to her heart. Janice’s remarkable work ethic shone throughout her 27-year tenure with the Marshall County Board of Education, where she worked in the cafeteria and touched the lives of countless children. She had an unwavering love for life and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna (Tim) Norman of Columbia,; grandson, T.C. (Kelsi) Norman of Columbia; granddaughter, Niki (Jeremy) Waller of Columbia; 4 great granddaughters, Kiersten Waller, Bella Grace Waller, Stella Norman, and Pippa Jane Norman; half brothers, Steve Bills of New Jersey and David Bills of Atlanta, GA; nephews, Jeff Bills and Cliff Bills; nieces, Sherry Bills and Kathy Jan Bills; sister in law, Nancy Bills; and many special friends.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman Dean Liggett; brother, William “Buddy” Bills; and niece, Pam Duke.
