janiceFuneral service for Mrs. Janice Alexander Russell, 55 of Decatur, Alabama will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Macedonia Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America with the Reverend George Allen Jr. officiating and Dr. G. Lynne Herring host pastor. Inhumation will follow in Calvary Memorial Gardens. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral. Public Viewing will be Thursday from 3-6 and Friday from 10-6 at Reynolds Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6-7 at the funeral home.

She was born to the late Lillie Pearl Dancy Alexander and Thomas Alexander on August 14, 1958 in Decatur, Alabama. On Monday, June 16, 2014, she went to be with the Lord in the Select Specialty Care Division of Trinity Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. She confessed Christ at an early age and joined Greater St. Paul Spiritual Church.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Lillie Pearl and Thomas Alexander; one son, Thomas “Buck” Alexander; one sister, Teresa “E-Baby” Alexander Jennings; grandparents, Frank Dancy, Lucy Stover, Herman and Mentie Lue Madry; father-in-law, James Lyle; mother-in-law, Rosie Lee Russell; nephew, Christopher Jamal Alexander; three uncles, David, Emory and William Dancy; five aunts, Annie Watkins, Lena Wright, Clara, Dezarine and Margaret Dancy;

She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Connie Dee Russell of Decatur; two sons, Connie Dee Russell Jr, of Decatur and Percey (Nichole) Alexander of Kettering, OH; five brothers, Willie “Darlene” Alexander of Mobile, Robert Jamar, Willis Madry and Frank Madry all of Decatur and Clifford Madry of Hazel Green; three sisters, Ora Lee Love of Hartselle, Flora Lee Madry and Willie Mae Robinson both of Decatur; sister-in-law, Ladstia Goodson; brother-in-law, Jeffery Russell; aunt, Mrs. Emma Doris Smoke; 12 grandchildren, JaMiya Lenae Moody, Kenyatta Russell, Janekquia Russell, Shukirah Russell, Natasha Taylor, Deshaun Alexander, I’Keisha Humphrey, Taraysha Alexander, Logan Borden, Taylor Baker, I’Siah Alexander and NaKesha Pointer; two great-grandchildren, Kamani Smith and Da’Kariah Renetta Thomss; five nieces, seven nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Flower Attendants will be Sequioa Orr, Makayla Orr, Aquavetta Jones, Amy Brown, Nichole Sain, Telisia Bates, Franchesca Randolph and Jessica Harris.

Pallbearers will be Decorius Orr, Leonidas Hampton, Avery Cordell, Ja’Michael Orr, Orlandress Hampton, Julius Stover, Bernard Alexander and Melvin Dancy.
