Jane W. Knouff, 95, of Town Creek, who was loved by all who knew her, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Decatur Morgan Hospital.
Funeral will be on her favorite day of the week, Sunday, March 16 at 2:00 PM at Shelton Funeral Home with Chris Miller and Ben Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Town Creek. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the service.
Mrs. Knouff was born February 16, 1930, in Decatur to James A. Walker and Nellie McAlister Walker. She was a graduate of Riverside High School in Decatur. After the death of her husband, she continued to operate Knouff’s Farm Supply until 2013. Along with running her family business, she was often found working in her yard.
Previously, she was a member of the Lawrence County Cowbells, Lawrence County Farmer’s Foundation Women’s Committee, original member of the Lawrence County Library Board, and was active in her community for the majority of her life.
Mrs. Knouff was a member of the Church of Christ. She taught Sunday School for many years. She currently attended the Hatton Church of Christ, where she looked forward to every service and was a pillar of faithfulness and love.
Mrs. Knouff is preceded in death by her parents; husband, J.R. Knouff; brother, Billy J. Walker; and son-in-law, Tom Wiggins.
She is survived by her son, Ricky Knouff of Town Creek; two daughters, Debbie Wiggins of Decatur, and Marsha Peters (Brian) of Trinity; her grandchildren, Alisha Daniels (Brian), Carley Pike (Tyler), Braxton Peters; and her great-grandchildren, Audrey Daniels, Drew Daniels, and Taytum Jane Pike, due in April.
Pallbearers will be Brian Peters, Braxton Peters, Brian Daniels, Tyler Pike, Philip Walker, Alan Walker, and Michael Walker. Honorary pallbearers are Allen Pickens, Milton Taylor, Doug Russell, Brex Anderton, and Mike Owens.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude and Hospice of the Valley.
