Jane Tucker Vickers, 72, of Huntsville, passed away on June 30, 2017 after a nearly two-year battle with cancer. She was born in Cannon County, TN to Sanford and Rhoda Tucker on September 28, 1944. She is survived by her husband, Jack Vickers; sister, Barbara Bailey; son, Chris Vickers (Melody); daughter, Jennifer Carden (Scott); five grandchildren, Jackson Vickers, Lydia Vickers, Carter Vickers, Tucker Carden and Wade Carden. Jane was a loved and cherished member of her neighborhood where she lived for over 40 years. Jane received great joy from being a loving and caring mother and grandmother to her children and grandchildren, love and care of her flower and fern beds and love and fellowship with her wonderful friends she has made over the years. She truly loved and cherished her children and grandchildren and got much entertainment watching their sporting and dancing activities as well as following their academic progress. She took great pride in her flower and fern beds and was often referred to as the lady with the “green thumb”. She often discounted the reference but it was really true. Her beds were superior. Over the 40 years in South Huntsville, she made many friends with which she often socialized, generally over food. One group over a monthly lunch, another at breakfast and still others for activities such as walking. She was truly loved in her neighborhood and will be sorely missed. Visitation will be Thursday, July 6, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Eric Kohler officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Ivy Bluff United Methodist Church in Cannon County, TN, C\O Scott Carden, P.O Box 754, Huntsville, AL 35804. Berryhill Funeral Home is assisting the family
