Our beloved wife and mother, Jane Carole Routon Barry Yeatman passed away peacefully at

home on December 21, 2024, after a lengthy illness. She was born February 18, 1942, to Dr.

and Mrs. Benjamin Comer (Carrie Karnes) Routon. She was preceded in death by her parents,

as well as her adoptive father, Henley Edward Barry, II; her son, Michael Edward Yeatman of

Starkville; a brother, Henley Edward Barry, III, of Starkville; a sister, Mary Katherine Barry Steen

Ingels of Starkville, and nephew, Ronald Steen Ingels of Starkville.

Jane was born in Texarkana, Arkansas. She moved to Starkville at a young age after the death

of her birth father. The Barry family were active community members for many years. She

graduated from Starkville High School in 1960 and went on to graduate from Mississippi State

University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree. Jane worked as a medical

technologist in Memphis, Tennessee and Forrest City, Arkansas. The remaining years of her

career were dedicated to serving Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine

and the Poultry Science Department in various leadership capacities.

Jane was loved by all who knew her for her kind spirit and selfless, loving heart. She was

passionate about many things. Among her many loves were spending time with her

grandchildren, reading, cross stitching, and joining friends for the First of the Month Lunch

Bunch. In her free time, she dedicated time to her beloved dogs, participating in dog shows,

training dogs and teaching puppy obedience classes. Several of her prized Rottweilers won

many awards and ribbons over the years. In later years, she and her beloved standard poodle,

Nichole ‘Nikki’, participated in the Love on a Leash program providing pet therapy to local

organizations.

Jane was a member of many organizations including the American Society of Medical

Technologists, The American Society for Clinical Pathology, the American Kennel Club, the Golden

Triangle Kennel Club of Mississippi, The Foundation for Pet Provided Therapy, Mississippi State

University Alumni Association, and Alpha Epsilon Delta, Mississippi Gamma.

She is survived by her adoring husband, Shelby Harold Yeatman of McKinney, TX, formerly of

Starkville; her daughters Cindy Ruth Yeatman Delcambre of McKinney, Texas and Carrie Lynn

Yeatman Hale of Melissa, Texas; her grandchildren William Paul Delcambre (Valeria) of Allen,

Texas, Benjamin Brooks Delcambre of McKinney, Texas; Sarah Elizabeth Hale of San Luis

Obispo, California; Benjamin Kyle Hale (Marina) of Woodbridge, VA; and Emily Katherine Hale

of Melissa, Texas; her sister, Barbara Barry Rhoades and family of Chapel Hill, NC; her brother,

John Barry (Nora) and family of Chesterfield, VA; her beloved cousin, Penny Fox of Little Rock,

AR, and many other dear cousins, nieces, nephews, and long-time friends.

Arrangements are under the direction of Welch Funeral Home, Starkville, MS. Visitation is

scheduled for Monday, December 30, 2024, 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Welch Funeral Home followed

by graveside services at Memorial Garden Park Cemetery in Starkville. The Rev. Dewayne

Davis will officiate. Pall bearers will be William Delcambre, Brooks Delcambre, Brian Steen, Bob

Hodges, and Jason Ingram.
