Jana Pickens Trillet, 74, went to be with her Lord and Savior peacefully, Friday April 5, 2023, at AMG Specialty Hospital in Batesville, MS with her husband, son, and her caring nurses by her side.

A Celebration honoring Mrs. Jana’s life will be at 4 PM Thursday April 11, 2023, at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with Bro. Jack Bennett and her son, Bro. Tim Trillet officiating. Visitation will be from 3:30 PM until time of service on Thursday April 11, 2023, at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.

Born January 12, 1950, in Elaine, Arkansas to the late James S. and Opal Strawn Pickens, Mrs. Jana was a graduate of Elaine High School and continued her education at Louisiana State University. On December 19, 1969, she married her beloved husband, Kenneth “Ken” Trillet, who survives. Together they traveled various places, as she was an optical manager for multiple clinics such as TSO, Individual Optometry, and Cole Vision for fifteen years. After retiring from the eye clinics, Mrs. Jana had the opportunity to do what she truly loved which was feeding people, as she opened one of the best barbecue places in central Mississippi, the Pig Shack. From cooking her famous barbecue and delicious sides, to taking orders, and serving people with a smile, she ran her restaurant successfully for thirteen years before retiring and moving to Tippah County with her husband to be closer to her grandchildren.

A Christian, Mrs. Jana enjoyed attending Mt. Moriah Baptist Church to worship her Lord, listening to God’s word, and pray for people continually. She was a strong independent woman of faith and could even be described as Proverbs 3:15, “She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her.” Mrs. Jana was a people person to the fullest, always welcoming folks into her home, preparing food for others, and checking in on people often. She had a heart of gold and was very strong willed, as she “ruled the roost” and ran the house. She loved traveling with her husband, especially to Silver Dollar City, reading, and attending ballgames and being with her grandchildren. Mrs. Jana was a devoted wife, loving mother, wonderful grandmother, and true friend, whose generosity and helping hand will live on as a legacy to her family and friends.

In addition to her husband of 54 years, Ken Trillet, those left to cherish her memories include her only son, Tim Trillet (Kimberley), her sister-in-law, Jimmie Sue Pickens, and four grandchildren, Rachel Guy (Alexander), Lydia, Ethan, and Anna Trillet.

She is also preceded in death by one brother, Jimmy Pickens.

The family request that donations be directed to the Horn Lake First Baptist Church, and they would like to give a special thanks the staff of AMG Specialty Hospital for the care and love shown to them and Mrs. Jana.

Ripley Funeral Home invites you to share memories.
