Jamie Laura Bigham Joyner, 94, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Magnolia Place in New Albany, MS. Born on July 4, 1931, in Ecru, MS, she was the daughter of James Lonnie and Effie Watkins Bigham. She was a graduate of Ecru High School, class of 1949, and furthered her education at Draughn’s Business School, graduating in 1950.
She dedicated many years of her professional life as an office manager at Muscle Shoals Rubber Company in Batesville, MS, retiring in 1994. Her life was filled with her family, including her children, Gary Hall, Patricia Rakestraw (Billy Cook), Janet Musgrove (Wayne), Barry Reeder (Bette-Anne), and Donna Hunt. She was grandmother to Jason Hall, Christie Armstrong, Diana Sanford, Amanda Moore, Joanna Porter, Mandi Shulz, Taylor McCain, Shelby Holt, Rachel Alexander, Daniel Bailey, and Dusty Bailey, and was blessed with 25 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, who all survive her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Glendon and Donald Ray Bigham, her sons-in-law Ronnie Rakestraw and Larry Hunt, her grandson Sam Floyd, and her great grandson Cooper Bailey.
A funeral service will be held at 1PM on Friday, March 27, 2026, at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc, officiated by Bro. Jon Moore. Visitation will begin at 11 AM and continue to service time. She will be laid to rest in Ecru Cemetery, with her grandsons and great grandsons serving as pallbearers.
