James William McGuire, known by those that loved him as Jimmy, passed away Wednesday July 14, 2021, after a long battle with cancer at Madison Hospital at the age of 75. Born October 8, 1945, to William Buford McGuire and Gladys Hargrove McGuire, he was the middle child and well known for his infectious smile and generous personality. Jimmy graduated from Athens Bible School in 1963. Jimmy was a Navy veteran and retired from Delphi in 2006. He was always fixing things and loved working in his shop.
Jimmy is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jackie McGuire, son William Kevin McGuire (Misty), and Martin Tyler McGuire (Allison). He has five grandchildren, Madelyn McGuire, John McGuire, Elizabeth Ann McGuire, Kathryn Grace McGuire and Landon Morse. He will be missed by his younger brother Johnny (Kathy) and many, many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.
A graveside service for Mr. McGuire will be on Saturday, July 17th, 2021, at 11:00am at Roselawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tyler McGuire, Stewart Hanserd, Kevin McGuire, Johnny McGuire, John McGuire, and Chriss Whitt.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Athens Bible School.
