James William Harrison, age 95, passed away peacefully at his home in Silver Point, Tennessee, on July 17, 2026. Jim was born on November 30, 1930, in Racine, Wisconsin, to Samuel R. Harrison and Stella G. (Hunter) Harrison. Jim was known for his strong work ethic, dedication, and unwavering commitment to providing for his family. He attended Park High School in Racine before serving his country at Lackland Air Force Base. After marrying the love of his life, Judith (Welch) Harrison, in 1953, Jim began his career with the Racine Police Department, where he worked as both a detective and photographer. In 1966, Jim and Judi moved to Waupaca, Wisconsin, where he built their family home on the beautiful Chain O’ Lakes. They bought the Union 76 truck stop and launched and managed Three Squares Restaurant. In the late 1970s, they relocated to Hendersonville, Tennessee, where Jim worked for the MDHA. Soon after, he built the home in Silver Point, Tennessee, where he would spend the remainder of his life. Jim enjoyed boating, swimming, photography, and creatively displaying his many collections. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Samuel “Bob” Harrison; his sister, Joan Domanico; and his beloved wife of 66 years, Judith, who passed away in 2019. Jim is lovingly remembered by his children, Kit W. Harrison of Houston, Texas; Kim Nelson of Green Bay, Wisconsin; and Karri (Bradley) Paul of La Cañada Flintridge, California. He is also survived by his brother Jack (Charmaine) Harrison and his cherished grandchildren, Hans (Payal) Hartleben, Brit (Steven) Graves, Allie (Scott) Puyleart, Hayley (Alex) Balog, Chloe Harrison, and Stellan Paul; his great-grandchildren, Savannah (Brandon) Konkol, Ella Graves, Ezekiel Graves, Joelle Puyleart, Gracie Graves, Jett Puyleart, and Jace Puyleart; and his great-great-grandson, Kash Konkol. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. Known affectionately as “Jimmer,” Jim will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. To his family, he was more than a father, grandfather, and brother. He was a true legend, a hero, and an example of a life well lived. A private memorial service for family and close friends will be held on August 15, 2026.Rest in peace, Jimmer.
