James William Clanton – Obituary

James William Clanton, 88, passed away Thursday, August 09, 2012 at ECM Hospital after an extended illness. He was a native and lifelong resident of Lauderdale County, a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, retired from Reynolds after 42 years of service, and he was a member of the Baptist Church.

Visitation will be today, Saturday, August 11, 2012 from 1 – 3 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home with the funeral service beginning at 3 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel. Officiating will be the Rev. Redmond Talley. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.
Mr. Clanton was preceded in death by his parents, William and Maggie Weston Clanton.
He is survived by his son, Wayne Clanton and wife Linda; grandsons whom he loved hunting with, Tony Clanton and wife Michele, Michael Clanton, Todd Clanton and wife Leann; great grandchildren, Kalee, Mackenzie, Mattie, Ella, Lena, and MiCaden; brother, Rubin Clanton and wife Christine; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Tony Clanton, Michael Clanton, Todd Clanton, Grady Smith, Darin Smith, Larry Miles, Terry Risner, and Marty Hart.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Webb and the palliative care staff at ECM Hospital 3rd floor.
