James Willard Byrd, 91, of Huntsville, passed away Tuesday. Mr. Byrd was a retired farmer and was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth O. Byrd; daughter Cheryl Myrick; brothers: Walter, Daniel, Thomas, and Leonard; sisters: Rocine Byrd Young, Louise Byrd Knight, and Esteele Byrd Stone; and parents Wiley Byrd and Willie Josephine Hunter Byrd.
Survivors include his five children: Sara Willodene Byrd Marsh (Bob), James W. Byrd, Jr. (Gearldine), Pamela Byrd Sisco (Andy), Steven E. Byrd (Sandra), and Angela Porterfield Byrd; brother Lester Byrd; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Berryhill Funeral Home. Chapel service will follow at 1:00 with Bro. Shannon Byrd and Rev. James Harrell officiating. Burial will be held at Maple Hill Cemetery.
