James Walker Jeffreys , 81, of Tuscumbia passed away November 7, 2016. Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at Leighton Baptist – Christian Life Center. The funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Leighton Baptist – Christian Life Center. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery. Rev. Mark Mayfield and Dr. John T. Brock will officiate.
Mr. Jeffreys was a native of Colbert Co., AL. He was a farmer. He was on the Board of Directors of the Colbert Coop and was on a committee for ALFA. He was a member of the Leighton Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents Walker and Myrtle Jeffreys; brothers Leslie Jeffreys and Larry Jeffreys and his sisters Marie McGee and Dean Sanders.
Survivors are his wife of 59 years Sara Jeffreys of Tuscumbia; daughter Jami (Ricky) Wright and grandchildren Rick Wright and William Wright.
Pallbearers will be Derrick Aycock, Griffen Bond, Gorden Fennel, Wayne Jeffreys, Dan McCormack, and Kevin Sockwell.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Leighton Baptist Building Fund.
