Funeral services for Mr. James W. “Jim” Lumpkin, age 80, of Lineville will be held on Monday, May 4, 2026 at 3:00 P.M. at Oak Chapel Baptist Church in Goodwater with Bro. Jimmy Nelson and Bro. Billy East officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.

Mr. Lumpkin passed away on April 30, 2026 at the Goodwater Healthcare. He was born in Alabama and lived here all his life. He worked in the timber industry but was also a reserve Sheriff’s Deputy for several years. Jim loved his family and very often helped maintain family graves with fresh flowers. He attended Candler Mountain Baptist Church and loved gospel singings.

He is survived by his 3 daughters, Kelley Baker(Brent), Amber Gardner(Lynn) and Hollie Lumpkin; son, Shane Lumpkin(Jamie); 3 sisters, Martha Lindsey(James), Ruby East(Billy) and Eloise Crawford; brother, Calvin Skinner(Peggy); 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephew and other extended family members..

He was preceded in death by his parents, Loftis and Lillian Lumpkin; wife, Ann Lumpkin; son, Alfred J. Lumpkin; brother, Robert E. Lumpkin.

Active Pallbearers will be Larry Wallace, Scott Futral, Chris Skinner, Jimmy Giddens, Eric Vickers and Lesley Vickers. Honorary pallbearers are Calem McDonald, Jamie McCollough, David Crawford and Dante Mitchell.

The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland, Sunday May 3, 2026 from 6:00-8:00 and he will lie in state from 2:00 until 3:00 on Monday at the church.
