Mr. James Vernon Knight, age 91, of Horton, passed away Thursday, July 12, 2018, at his home.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 14, 2018, at Adams Brown Service Funeral Home, from 11:00 pm until 1:00 pm. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 pm in the chapel, with interment to follow at Douglas Cemetery.
Mr. Knight is survived by his wife, Izell Knight; sons, Louis (Janice) Patterson, David (Ronda) Patterson; daughters, Sherry (Alan) Ross, Debra (Terry) Matlock, and Pam Dobbins; sister, Pauline Younks; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Winnie and Paul Groggin; son, James Vernon Knight, Jr.; sisters, Virginia Hayes and Carol Tanny; grandson, Terry Matlock, Jr.; great-grandson, Brian Story.
