James Vernon “Bubba” Travis 85, of Toney, AL died Saturday, July 18, 2020 at his home, Toney, Alabama.
Born Wednesday, December 12, 1934 in Madison County, AL, he was the son of the late Jimmie H. Travis and Trucie Neva Tanner Travis. He was a life long resident of the Madison County/ Toney Alabama area, started a drywall business in 1954 and was a life long tradesman, a veteran of the U.S. Army and loved gardening.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Violet Lavarne Luna Travis; and sister, Almeta V Crowson.
He is survived by sons, James Steven (Sheila) Travis, Ardmore, TN, and Greg (Leah) Travis, Ardmore, AL,; grandchildren, Deanna Travis, Jackie Trostel, Carly Travis and Chandler Travis; great grandchildren, Meghan Travis and Jaycee Clark; sisters, Ida Mae Green , Toney, AL, Mary Jo Ables, Ardmore, AL, and Neva Gail Jean, Fayetteville, TN.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM.
A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore, AL, at 12:30 PM with Bro. Randy Watts and Bro. Harold Boggs and Rev. Jerry Hovis officiating.
Pallbearers will be Ronald “Catfish” Ables, Bobby “Redbone” Ables, Ronnie “Moody” Marrow, Steve Marrow, Charlie Clark and Lee “Hair” Brazelton.
