James  Thomas Usrey, Jr.James Thomas Usrey, Jr. died Monday, October 28, 2019 at Huntsville Hospital. He was born on October 10,1952 in Guntersville and lived most of life in Madison County.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Sr. and Elizabeth Usrey, and his younger brother, Billy Usrey. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Michele Kent Usrey; his two children, Robin Usrey and Matthew Usrey; grandson, Garrett Stinnett; his only sister, Gail Wright (Wayne); his two brothers, Greg Usrey (Barbara) and Kevin Usrey; and many sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.

James graduated from Madison County High School in 1971. While there, he played football, was named to the All County team, named the most valuable linebacker, and voted most athletic. After graduation, he went to work at Chrysler and retired 30 years of loyal service.

While his children were growing up, he would coach their softball and baseball teams. Later he would become a softball umpire in Madison county and surrounding areas. He spent most of his time being a wonderful grandfather to his only grandchild, Garrett.
He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all.

Visitation will be from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday, November 3 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home, with a memorial service immediately following in the chapel.
