James Ronnie Burks, age 63 of Winchester, passed away Monday, November 8, 2021 at his residence. He was born February 16, 1958 in Chicago, Illinois to the late James K. Burks and Nellie Lou Shockley Burks. He retired from Vijon where he was employed as a mechanical engineer. Ronnie was a master gardener and considered himself a dedicated steward of the land. He loved to travel out West and was also a music and film lover. He will be remembered as a man who could converse with anyone and he never met a stranger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Samantha Champion. He is survived by two sons, James Travis Burks (Abby Bumbalough) and Jared Daniel Burks (Elizabeth Hardison); and many loving cousins. Visitation will be 12-1 pm Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1 pm in Moore-Cortner Chapel with Rev. Todd Coutta officiating.
