James Ronald Hoobler, 62, of Jasper, passed away Friday, August 11, 2023, at his residence. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Walker Memory Gardens. Billy Luster will officiate.
Jim enjoyed the beach and spending time with his mother, brother, children, and grandchildren, who loved him and he loved very much. He was a kind soul and always took care of friends and family. Jim was a sports fanatic that collected sports memorabilia his whole life with his brother Larry. They opened a small sports store. It was actually a place where sports fans could come and chat about any sports because Jim was knowledgeable about all sports especially baseball, football, and Nascar. He was blessed with a loving family and lifelong friends who he loved and cherished.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Marlin Hoobler Jr.; grandparents, James Marlin Hoobler, Eva Mae Hoobler (Helms), Clarence Franklin, and Mary Franklin (Hyche).
He is survived by his children, Brandie Seaman (Matt), Kamryn Haley, Jessie Hoobler, and Jim Hoobler; mother, Margaret Ann Hoobler (Franklin); brother, Larry Hoobler; grandchildren, Alyssa Seaman, Kirsten Seaman, Helena Seaman, Emerson Seaman, Ava Haley, and Adaleigh Haley.
In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to be made to ALS Clinic at UAB hospital.
