Obituary of James Ronald Choate James Ronald Choate, 68, of Corinth went to rest peacefully in his eternal home on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, Brother Choate was surrounded by his family. He was born December 14, 1956 to the late Irvin Choate and the late Deloris Harville Cubero.

Ronald was a man of God, a devout christian who spent his life’s work spreading the message and praising God’s name. He was a mixed martial arts enthusiast and a fourth degree black belt in Taekwondo. Ronald spent numerous years as a martial arts instructor for Corinth and the surrounding communities. He wished to send a sincere and personal “Thank You” to the hospital staff and all the healthcare workers that dedicated their time to his care. Ronald will forever be loved, cherished and missed by his family, friends and community, but most of all, by his devoted wife of fifty-one years, Cheryl.

Ronald was welcomed home by his parents and two brothers, Tim Choate and Anthony Cubero.

Ronald is survived by his wife, Cheryl Choate; son, Tony Choate (Emily); daughter, Jodi Choate; three brothers, Mark Choate, David Cubero and Jeffery Cubero; sister, Teresa Choate; five grandchildren, Laura McCormick (J.J.), Mary Choate, Emma Choate, Owen Choate, and Ruby Choate; two great-grandchildren, Ruth McCormick and Henry McCormick; and a host of extended family and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for Friday, June 13, 2025 beginning at three o’clock in the afternoon at McPeters Funeral Directors with Tony Choate officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at two o’clock in the afternoon until service time. A committal service will follow at New Hope Church of Christ Cemetery.
