James Robert Sulcer, 89, of Athens, Alabama, died Monday, December 7, 2020, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. Mr. Sulcer was born August 30, 1931, in Limestone County. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Athens.
He was a Korean Conflict Army veteran, and was retired from Lockheed Martin and was a longtime member of Athens Lions Club.
There will be a 2 p.m. graveside service Wednesday at Roselawn Cemetery with Dr. Edwin Jenkins officiating. No visitation is planned.
Survivors are sons, Jim (Kay) Sulcer, of Athens, and Steve (Karla) Sulcer, of Athens; grandchildren, Blake Sulcer, Emily Sulcer Womacks, Andrew Sulcer, Molly Sulcer, Brian Sulcer, Erin Sulcer, Savannah Sulcer and Sarah Sulcer; great-grandson, Decker Sulcer; brother, Alton Sulcer, of Athens; sisters, Betty Cox, of Birmingham, and Judy Grisham, of Athens; nieces and newphews.
Preceded in death by parents, Frazier and Gladys Sulcer; wife, Barbara Ellen Sulcer; sister, Dorothy Hinkle.
