James Rickey Smith, age 65 of Belvidere, passed away Monday, September 6, 2021 at St. Thomas West in Nashville. James was born on October 30, 1955 in Cook County, IL to Dorothy Thompson and the late James Noah Smith. In his younger years, he enjoyed camping every weekend with family and friends. James loved woodworking and watching Andy Griffith, Gilligan’s Island and Gunsmoke. Before his retirement, he was a welder at Lite Rider and he previously owned Winchester Taxidermy and Winchester Computer shop. James will be remembered by all as a fun loving, practical jokester who loved to aggravate everyone. James is survived by his wife of thirty nine years, Debbie Smith of Belvidere; mother, Dorothy Thompson of Estill Springs; sons, Jimmie Wilhoit of Tullahoma, Steve (Jenny) Wilhoit of Tullahoma, Brandon (Shannon) Wrisner of Decherd; grandchildren, Thomas “Peewee” Wilhoit of Tullahoma, Michael (Jesscia) Duke of Tullahoma, Houston and Kinzley Wrisner of Decherd; sisters, Brenda Coble of Tullahoma, Diane Smith of Estill Springs, Thersia Frazier of Estill Springs, and Rita Kelley of Estill Springs; 5 nieces, 2 nephews, 3 great nieces and 2 great nephews. Visitation will be from 10 am-12 pm Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with funeral services to follow at 12 pm. Interment will be at Steele Cemetery in Belvidere.
