James Richard Hand, Jr., 53, of Tuscumbia passed away Thursday, November 24, 2016. Visitation will be Saturday, November 26th from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will be Sunday, November 27th at 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church with Roger Lovelady and Ricky Zhand officiating. He will lie-in-state from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
James was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a 1982 graduate of Deshler High School, where he was in the band for 5 years and later attended Northwest Shoals Community College. He worked at Walmart and was a member and deacon of Second Baptist Church of Sheffield.
Preceded in death by his father, Richard Hand; father-in-law, Oscar Rogers; sister-in-law, Angela Oliver and nephew David Norred.
James is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Teresa Rogers Hand; daughter, Jennifer Renea Hand; mother, Gloria June Thompson Hand; sisters, Donna June Davis and his twin, Regina Kaye Norred (Junior) and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Josh Cheatham, Marty Thigpen, Ricky Davis, Adam Miller, Matt Reed, Steven Mills, BJ Davis and David Clark.
