James Ray Wood, 67, died Friday, June 23, 2017, at Diversicare in Tupelo. He was born November 28, 1949, to Ollis and Cora Lucile Rogers Wood. He was a self-employed carpenter and a Baptist in belief. He enjoyed fishing, reading, and watching westerns.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 25, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Terry Paul Graham officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery.

Survivors include two sons, Timothy Wood and Edward James Wood, both of Bolivar, TN two daughters, Sheila Wood Meyer Lewis (Rodney) of Alba, TX, and Amanda Wood Walton of Bolivar, TN; one brother, Charles Wood (Nell) of Guyton, GA; two sisters, Walala Underwood and Martha Wright, both of Fulton; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Mills Wood; three brothers, Lawrence Wood, William Francis Wood, and L.C. Wood; one sister, Vetra Butler; and his parents.

Pallbearers will be Terry Thomas, Mark Taylor, Bryan Warren, Wayne Underwood, Mike Underwood, Chris Wright, and Lando Butler. Honorary pallbearers will be David Herring, Stevie Wood, Tony Wood, and Rodney Lewis.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, June 24, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Fulton.
