Funeral for Rev. James Ray Brock, 93, of Trinity will be Sunday, Sept. 25, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Faith Tabernacle with Rev. Anthony Simmons, Rev. Thomas Smith and Rev. Floyd Odom officiating and Parkway Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church.
Rev. Brock, who passed away Thursday, Sept. 22, 2016, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born Sunday, July 10, 1923, to Blaine Brock and Candace Crisp Brock. He was the founding pastor of Faith Tabernacle and served many churches in eight states over 60 years. During that time, he built four churches. He was a World War II veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Irene Brock; and his parents.
Survivors include two sons, Zane (Phyllis) Brock and Mark (Debra) Brock; three daughters, Judy Ashton, Dianne (Gary) Carolyn Pugh and Hilda (Douglas) Queen; sister, Nell Carver; 14 grandchildren; 31 greatgrandchildren and 17 great- great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Justin Brock, Houston Brock, Robby Brock, Chris Queen, Rodney Queen, Michael Jackson, Scott Jackson and Danny Ashton.
