James Phillip Morgan, age 76, of Belfast, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, December 31st, 2025, at Maury Regional Medical Center.

He was born August 8th, 1949, in Fayetteville, Tennessee, to the late James Harvey and Flora Jewel Hefner Morgan. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Muriel Hensley Morgan; two sons, Mark (Cindy) Morgan of Gatlinburg and Adam Morgan of Columbia; two sisters, Phyllis Howell of Belleview, TN, and Rhonda (Wayne) Bryant of Tullahoma, TN; one grandson Max; niece Veronica Bryant of Tullahoma.

He retired from the Lincoln County School system after 30 years of teaching. Throughout his career, he inspired generations of students and colleagues with his passion for learning and his unwavering dedication to fostering growth and development. His work shaped the minds of countless young people, leaving an indelible mark on the local educational landscape. In addition to his service in education, he owned and operated Spot Advertising for over 44 years. His leadership and vision turned the business into a cornerstone of the community, supporting local organizations and helping other businesses thrive.

A devoted member of the Wesleyan Chapel, he was active in his faith community, participating in events and supporting fellow congregants. His generosity and kindness extended beyond professional and personal boundaries, enriching the lives of those around him.

In his leisure time, he enjoyed simple pleasures such as watching classic episodes of Andy Griffith and engaging with game shows. He also found joy in working acrostic puzzles, a pastime that reflected his love of learning and attention to detail.

His life stands as a testament to dedication, hard work, and community spirit. The generations of students he taught, the businesses he supported, and the friendships he nurtured are his lasting legacy. He will be remembered fondly by all who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Visitation with the family will be held at London Funeral Home and Crematory, 324 W. Church St. Lewisburg, TN, on Sunday, January 4th, 2026, from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm.

Funeral Service will be conducted on Sunday, January 4th, 2026, at 2:00 pm from the Chapel of London Funeral Home and Crematory with burial to follow in Head Springs Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wesleyan Chapel Building Fund, 1799 South Berlin Rd., Lewisburg, TN, 37091.
