Memorial service for Mr. James Patrick Travers, age 78, of Decatur, will be Wednesday, May 7, 2014, 5:00 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Richard Cassies officiating. Mr. Travers, who died Sunday, May 4, 2014, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born November 27, 1935, in Massachusetts, to William and Caroline Hicks Travers. He was preceded in death by his grandson James P. Travers II. He is survived by his wife Demaris Wooten Travers, three sons, William Travers (Rebecca) of Washington State, Michael Travers (Susan) of Decatur and Jon Travers (Mary) of Hartselle. 5 grandchildren, Payton Travers, Andrew Hill, Olivia Travers, Alana Travers and Brook Thompson (Derek), and 1 great grandchild Walker Thompson.
