James Owen Warhurst, 83, Russellville, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at his residence.
He lived his entire life in Franklin County and was a member of Tharptown Baptist Church. He was a self-employed farmer.
Visitation will be Friday, May 9, 2014, from 10 a.m. until 12 noon at Tharptown Baptist Church with funeral service to follow at noon. Officiating will be Brother Eddie Wix and burial will be in Tharptown Cemetery.
Survivors include wife, Genevie Roberson Warhurst; children, Patsy (Glenn) Kiel, Dewayne (Sharon) Warhurst, Sondra (Mike) Nichols; grandchildren, Jamie Kiel, Jody Kiel, Brandon Warhurst, Eric Warhurst, Danielle Mitchell, Holly Nichols; great-grandchildren, Canaan Stough, Sarah Kate, Audrey, and Lydia Kiel, Henry and Elizabeth Kiel, Sawyer Mitchell, and Bayleigh Warhurst; sister, Eulene Bradford.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Warhurst, Eric Warhurst, Jody Kiel, Timmy Mitchell, Ronnie Allen, and Roger Allen.
Honorary bearers will be Greg Willis, Terry Hall, Tommy Allen, Joey Coan, Doug Coan, Larry McCluskey, Tommy Warhurst, and JL McCluskey.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 24 years, Betty June Warhurst; parents, James Thomas “Jim” and Annie Earline Warhurst; sister, Betty Sue Coan.
