James Orvil Wooten, 83, of Sheffield, died Saturday, February 4, 2017. His visitation will be Tuesday, February 7, 2017 from 6 pm until 9 pm at Abundant Grace Church in Sheffield. His funeral service will be 11 am Wednesday, February 8th at the church with Pastor Steve Pochop officiating. Burial will follow in Sheffield Oakwood Cemetery.
Mr. Wooten was a member of Abundant Grace Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Airforce having served during the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Magdelene Wooten; son, James Edward Wooten; parents, Garfield and Geneva Wooten; brothers, Opal Wooten, Hershell Wooten, and Marshal Wooten.
He is survived by his son, Freddie Wooten (Gloria); daughters, Linda Poole (Darrell), Mary Ellen Lawrence, April Mitchell (Steve), Glory Michael (Paul), Charlene Davis, and Darlene Wooten; sisters, Eve Marthis and Dorothy Keeton; 24 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Family will serve as pallbearers.
