James Milton Hogland age 71 of Birmingham, was born on July 8, 1946 and passed away on Friday June 15, 2018. He was a graduate of Corner High School; a member of Canterbury United Methodist Church; a member of the Sons of the American Revolution; and was a member of the Birmingham Museum of Art.
Funeral services will be Tuesday June 19, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Rev. Earl “Bodie” Carey will officiate. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm until service time.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer Wesley Hogland and Ollie Delphia King Hogland; sister, Ollie D. Hogland; and brothers, Gerald Wesley Hogland and Elton Eugene Hogland.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Louise Young Hogland; son, James Milton Hogland, Jr. and wife Ashley Kimbrell Hogland; daughter, Aimee Louise Hogland; grandson, James Cross Hogland; granddaughter, Meredith Hogland; brother, Merrall Delon Hogland and wife Cheri; sisters, Anna Lou Hogland Carey and husband Bodie; Janice Elaine Hogland Sargent and husband Dick and Melba Sue Hogland Posey and husband William; brother in law, Harold Lee Young and wife Georgia; sister in law, Janice Young Wilson and husband Michael; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Canterbury United Methodist Church of the charity of your choice.
