James Michael Spencer age 78, of Muscle Shoals, Alabama passed away Friday September 13, 2024. Visitation will be Monday September 16, 2024 from 5:00pm-8:00pm, at Colbert Memorial Chapel. Funeral Service will be Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at 2:00pm in our chapel Bro. Truman Sutton will be Officiating the service. A private burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens.
James was a member of Cowboy Church of Colbert County. He loved fishing, Alabama football and spending time with his family. His greatest love was his wife Shirley, she was the love of his life for 53 years and 5 months, and his greatest blessing his Lord and savior Jesus Christ.
He was born in Bennington, Vermont on August,9,1946. He graduated from Long Beach Polytechnic High School, Long Beach CA in 1964 and served in the U.S. Army, from July 1964 to July 1967. He retired from Southern/ Norfolk Southern Railway on Dec 31,2007 with 38 ½ years’ service.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Spencer, Parents James F. Spencer and Virginia Wright, brothers Dick Hollister and Terry Spencer.
He is survived by his son, Michael Spencer (Wendy), daughter, Michelle Anglin (Scott), grandchildren, Austin Campbell (Somer), Micaela Hatton (Hunter), Noah Campbell, Madison Campbell, Braden Spencer, Ashleigh Spencer, Chris Miller (Zaidalis), Jacob Miller and Hannah Miller, Great grandchildren, Moxley Campbell, Brayden Miller, Selena Miller, Maddie Young, Creek Hatton and brother Bill Hollister (Yoko), sisters, Cindy Ware and Vicki Spencer, sister-in-law Diane Bevis, brother-in-law, Danny Watkins (Paula) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be: Austin Campbell, Noah Campbell, Braden Spencer, David Bailey, Danny Watkins, Daniel Watkins. Honorary will be Bill Dalton.
