James Michael Nix, 69 of Jasper Alabama passed away at his residence on January 24, 2025.
He was a 1974 graduate of Dora High School and was retired from Jim Walter Mines. He loved hunting, fishing and Alabama football.
He was preceded in death by his, parents, James Marvin and Norma Nix, son, Jason Nix, sister, Sharon Moon (Bill) and nephew, Blake Phillips.
Survivors include, the love of his life Judy Thomas (their dog Lucy) and her girls, Heather Corley (Todd), Jessie Woods (Garrett), their children Rylinn, Rhett, Kashton, and Darci. His grandchildren: Andrew Nix, Jaylin Nix and Carter Nix, brothers, Terry Nix (Sheree) and John Nix (Reba), sister, Rhonda Phillips (Dale), nephews, Jeremy Moon (Morgan), Brannon Nix (Laura), Braxton Nix and Tyler Nix, nieces, Stephanie Hogland (Derrik), Brooke Lollar (Drew) and Brelea Phillips, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be Tuesday January 28, 2025 at 2:00 pm in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Rev. James Aycox and Pastor Kieth Owens will officiate. Burial will follow at Brasfield Cemetery in Burnwell. Visitation is Tuesday from 12:30- 2 pm.
