James Michael “Mike” Wright, age 81, of Lewisburg, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Mike was born June 5, 1945, in Marshall County, Tennessee, to the late James and Brownie Davis Wright. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Janice Michelle Wright and a brother Kenneth Wright.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ruth Wright; sons, David Wright (Tammy) and Jamie Wright (Shelley) both of Lewisburg; eight grandchildren, Timmy, Alexis, Olivia, Hope, Bradley, Sidney, Rachel and Steven; several great grandchildren; sister Gayle Meek (Ronnie) of Lewisburg; several nieces and nephews.
He spent many years working as a truck driver for several companies, where he was known for his dedication, strong work ethic, and dependability. Although he took pride in his work, his greatest passion was farming. He found joy in caring for his land, tending to his cattle, and watching his herd grow over the years. He was a faithful member of CrossCountry Cowboy Church, where he enjoyed worship and fellowship with his church family. He was also a devoted supporter of the Marshall County High School Tigers football team and rarely, if ever, missed a game, whether at home or away. His love for farming, his church, his community, and the simple joys of life will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Mike was an avid supporter of the MCHS football team, so in lieu of flowers the family respectfully suggests donations be made in his memory to the Tiger Quarterback Club, P O Box 1015, Lewisburg, TN 37091.
Visitation with the family will be held at London Funeral Home and Crematory, 324 W. Church Street, Lewisburg, TN, on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm.
Funeral Service will be conducted on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at 2:00 pm at London Funeral Home and Crematory with burial to follow in Welch Cemetery.
