James Maxon McGouyrk – Obituary

James Maxon McGouyrk, age 92, of Florence, passed away Friday, May 16, 2014. 
Visitation will be 1-3 p.m., Sunday, May 18, at Spry-Williams Funeral Home, Florence. 
The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. Burial with military honors will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.
Mr. McGouyrk was a World War II veteran, serving in the Army Air Force. He was retired from Reynolds Alloys and was a member of Calvary Fellowship and the American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Wesley and Annie Mae McGouyrk; brothers, Emmitt and John Allen McGouyrk; and sister, Lucille Burnett.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Elaine; daughter, Rhonda Goode and husband, Tim; son, Steve McGouyrk and wife, Dianne; sister, Vela Mae Hales; grandchildren, Aleah Goode, Daniel McGouyrk and wife, Michelle; sister-in-law, Ramona Stephens and loving pet, Garfield “Caty Boy.”
Pallbearers will be Daniel McGouyrk, Tim Goode, Bob Freeman, Josh Holder, Dick Perry and Tommy Bohannon.
The family would like to express appreciation to Amedisys Hospice, especially Kristen, Teresa and Crystal, for their loving care.
