James “Mack” Scobey,74, of Ripley, TN
Mr. Scobey, age 74 of Ripley, TN, died at his home Wednesday afternoon, January 6, 2016,
A native of Lake County, TN, he was the son of the late Mac and Florence Lindsey Scobey. He worked as a die-cast and molding manager at Harmon Automotive in Bolivar where he resided for many years before moving to Lauderdale County. He last worked as a Transport Officer with the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department. On February 16, 1979, he was united in marriage to Donna Chandler and together they had lived near Ripley, TN for 30 years. In his early years, Mr. Scobey enjoyed hunting, fishing and caring for his dogs.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Scobey of Ripley; two daughters, Teresa Landreth and Lisa Scobey, both of Jackson; two sons, Johnny Mack Scobey of Ripley and Jimmy Scobey of Mumford; two step-children, Tilly Barnett of Friendship and Woody Compton of Crawford, TX; a brother, Roger Scobey of Rutherford; six grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
