Obituary of James Mitchell A Celebration of Life Service for James Loyd Mitchell 80, is set for 11:00 am Friday at Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Nelson Hight and Bro. Donnie Waldrop officiating. Burial will follow in the Magnolia Gardens.

Family will receive friends Friday from 9:00 to service time.

James died May 9, 2023 surrounded by his family at Magnolia Regional Health Center. He was born December 29, 1942 in Corinth, MS. to the late Ogle and Ethel Null Mitchell. He was a long time member of First Pentecostal Church/Church of the Crossroads, he was a graduate of Kossuth High School, was a US Air Force veteran. James was in the HVAC business for over 50 years having owned Gammel Sheet Metal and Heating-Air. He enjoyed spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Olen Mitchell, Junior Mitchell, William Mitchell and Lonnie Mitchell; sisters, Dorothy Mitchell, Beulah Mitchell and Martha Holloway.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carol Gammel Mitchell; son, Jimmy Mitchell (Cara Beth), grandchildren, Katelyn Mitchell, Lindsey Mitchell; special nieces and great niece, Angela and Ainsley Russell; brothers, David Mitchell (Sandy), Ronnie Mitchell (Barb); sister, Melba Hight (Jerry); brother-in-law, Dr. Charles Gammel; sister-in-law, Sandra Davis and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Honorary, his Church of The Crossroads Sunday School Class “The Tweenagers”
