James Lott – Obituary

James-Lott-1453294607James Lott age 89 passed away January 19, 2016 at Tennessee State Veterans Home at Humboldt.

He was born January 9, 1927 in Finger, the son of the late Albert Bryand and Emily Jane Deaton Lott. He attended schools at Bethel Springs. He married Junell Bishop in 1943. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and served in the Army of Occupation in Germany. They lived in Memphis and he worked for Ford Motor Company and later at Wonder Bread in Jackson. They made their home in the Logan’s Lake community of McNairy County since 1957.

He owned and operated Lott Transport, hauling cotton and masonry products. Mrs. Lott died in 2002 and he continued in the business with Tony and Emily, retiring in 2004.

Mr. Lott is survived by a son, Tony Lott of Finger and a daughter, Emily Lott of Finger and two brothers, A.B. Lott of Jackson and Robert ‘Jack’ Lott of Finger.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Junell Lott in 2002 and four brothers, Claude Lott, Willard Lott, Joe Lott and Roy Lott.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday, January 22, 2016 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Harry Burkhead officiating. Burial will follow in Unity Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Thursday.
