James Lee (Jim) Robinson was born on April 9, 1942, the son of the late Ellis and Josephine Loomis Robinson. On July 22, 1993, he was united in marriage to Lois Ann Weich, who survives. James departed this life on October 29, 2017, at the age of 75 years, 6 months, and 20 days.
James served his country in the United States Army and worked as a towboat captain for Tennessee Valley Towing. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, Colorado National Wildlife and Hunting, and Merchant Marines. After living in Joliet, Illinois, James lived in Morris Chapel, Tennessee for 20 years. James enjoyed towboating and hunting, epecially elk. He loved his family, his dogs, and four wheelers.
Along with his wife, James is survived by his sons, Brian Robinson of Lexington, Tennessee and Kenny Robinson and wife Susan of Paducah, Kentucky; a daughter, Katy Robinson of St. Louis, Missouri; stepdaughters, Teri Pence of Jackson, Missouri, Lisa Newman of Jackson, Missouri, and Sheri Smith of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; a stepson, James Pence of St. Louis, Missouri; sisters, Karen Looney Jett and husband Phil of Jackson, Tennessee, Sharon Crawley of Jackson, Tennessee, and Dola Mae Bivins of Lancaster, South Carolina; and 10 grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his son, James Darrell Robinson; daughter, Elizabeth Grillo; brother, Joseph Ellis Robinson; and sisters, Mary Lynn Cottle and Carol Elizabeth Dionne Hunter.
