Service to celebrate the life of James Lee Dunn will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday January 29, 2026 at Memorial Funeral Home with burial to follow in Oaks Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12 noon until service time.
James passed away at his residence on January 21, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on April 27, 1947, in Alcorn County, Mississippi, James was the beloved son of the late Frank James and Eather Shaw Dunn.
James was a graduate of Kossuth High School. He was a brave, hard-working, and selfless individual who dedicated his life to serving others. He served in the U.S. Army as a platoon sergeant, demonstrating his commitment and leadership. He owned and operated Dunn’s Used Cars and Parts, where he continued to make a positive impact in his community. In his earlier years, James loved to race cars on the weekend and enjoyed spending time with his family. His legacy of love, strength, and dedication will be remembered by all who knew him.
James is survived by his daughters, Stacy Dunn and Leigh Ann Bullington (Ray); sons, Mike Suitor (Angie), Marty Dunn, and Ronald Dunn; grandchildren, Makayla Brawner (Jonathon), Kyle Suitor (Amber), Kadin Dunn, Kahne Dunn, Kaison Dunn, Monte Dunn, Justin Fry, Trey Montgomery, Autumn Walker (Daniel), Will Beecham (Kaitlyn), Lilianna Bullington, Grant Bullington, Emme Bullington Raiford (Peyton), Kayle Hight, Dylan Hight (Payton), and Chase Peterson (Hannah), and cherished by 13 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Phyllis Lowery, and a host of other nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Dunn; sons, James Todd Dunn and Randle Dewayne Suitor; daughter, Anna Irene Dunn; sister, Susie Dunn; and brothers, Ray, Bobby Frank, and Eddie Clyde Dunn.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Suitor, Kadin Dunn, Monte Dunn, Trey Montgomery, Will Beecham and Grant Bullington.
Rev. Nelson Hight, Rev. Jared Hight and Rev. Brian Davis will officiate the service.
