James Larry Shockley, age 80 of Belvidere, passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. A native of Franklin County, he was born in Belvidere on October 19, 1940 to the late James and Flora Mae (Roggli) Shockley. Larry was a 1959 graduate of Franklin County High School and up until his retirement was a full time farmer. He loved spending time on the farm, especially working his horses and on steam engines, and was an avid woodworker. Larry is survived by his loving wife, Betty Shockley of Belvidere; children, Stacie (Russell) Alexander of Murfreesboro, Diane (Gerald) Player of Belvidere, and Dwight (Cindy) Latham of Belvidere; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 12-2 pm on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 pm in the Moore-Cortner Chapel. Interment will be at Green Cemetery.
